Alabama football had a winning season in 2024, but 9-4 was not the mindset of the fan base.
In this new era of college football — one that includes a 12-team playoff — 10 wins is the benchmark to make the playoff. If the Crimson Tide had beaten Vanderbilt, Tennessee, or Oklahoma in the regular season, it would have gotten into the dance. Alabama’s schedule is tough this yet, but it sets up with the road losses last year being home games this time.
Alabama LB reveals best Christmas present is returning to the team
Kalen DeBoer will lead the Tide versus Florida State in Tallahassee (Fla.) to open the season, but it faces Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, and Auburn on the road. Alabama has Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, LSU, and Oklahoma on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
According to Brett McMurphy of Action Network, Circa Sports — an oddsmaker in Las Vegas — projects 9 1/2 wins for Alabama this season. The program is tied with Georgia and Texas for most projected regular season wins in the Southeastern Conference. Circa Sports sees the Tide’s possible three losses versus Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn.
