Freddie Roach looks to have Alabama’s defensive line on point, but Kane Wommack is excited about year two of vision coverage from the Crimson Tide’s secondary.
Maurice Linguist (cornerbacks) and Jason Jones (safeties) will have the coaching in tact, but the talent in the secondary is marquee. Depth is not an issue for the Tide as it’s recruited well in its freshmen class, while bringing in quality out the transfer portal. Alabama fans are pumped up to see Domani Jackson, Zabien Brown, Keon Sabb, and Bray Hubbard, but a second-year defensive back is training to put on a show in the fall. Red Morgan, an Alabama native, was a four-star prospect in the 2024 class from Central-Phenix City High School. He chose to remain with the Tide, regardless of Nick Saban’s decision to retire. Morgan came in 175 pounds, but made an impact with eight tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup in 12 games.
He improved his body in the spring, adding eight pounds to his frame. The 6-foot, 182-pounder is training with a former Tide defensive back, Justin Woodall. Woodall, the founder of All-In-One training in Birmingham, Ala., was an SEC Championship and a BCS National Champion in 2009.

He has versatility to play at “Husky” or safety. Wommack will make sure he gets quality reps in the 4-2-5 “Swarm Defense,” but we will see how much of an impact Morgan creates.
