A new podcast has Crimson Tide football fans energized for the coming season.
“The Dynasty” breaks down Alabama’s run of success and how it looks to continue under Kalen DeBoer. The podcast features three Tide legends — AJ McCarron, Trent Richardson, and Chris Stewart. McCarron (2009, 2011, and 2012) and Richardson (2009, 2011) captured multiple national championships as players, while Stewart was the voice behind those championships for Crimson Tide Sports Network. Alabama missed out on the College Football Playoff in 2024; however, the legends feel DeBoer has the secret to success this season to bounce back.
McCarron and Richardson say the Crimson Tide has to run the ball more.

“The biggest thing going into this year is they [Alabama] have to establish a run game that is with the running back,” McCarron said. “Being able to establish that throughout the season helps the passing game evolve and open up more. If they can do that, I think the sky is the limit.”
Stewart named the list of backs on Alabama’s roster, including Jam Miller, Richard Young, Daniel Hill, and Kevin Riley. The Tide also brought in Dre Washington (Louisiana-Lafayette) from the NCAA transfer portal and signed a highly-touted freshman in AK Dear.

Alabama has six options, but Richardson feels it needs a two-headed monster.
“I was lucky enough to have three every year,” Richardson said. “When Mark [Ingram] and I were there, it was Mark, me, and [Roy] Upchurch. Then, it was Mark, me, and Eddie Lacy. Then, I think it was Lacy and big Jalston Fowler. We had a system and it was not just a third-down back, but we were all prepared for any moment.”
Richardson, the 2011 Doak Walker Award winner and Heisman finalist, said he is ‘very excited’ about this running back room at Alabama.
“If we can get downhill, I think Jam is the guy,” Richardson said.
“I love what Daniel is doing, but I think Jam will be the starter.”

The running back position is a spot Tide fans are not worried about. Depth and talent is all over the roster, but it will be interesting to see who joins Miller as his partner in the backfield.
