A group for Alabama football that has time on task and exciting young talent is the secondary.
Domani Jackson, Zabien Brown, Keon Sabb, Bray Hubbard, DaShawn Jones, and Red Morgan gained quality experience in 2024. Kane Wommack, the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator, added talented freshmen such as Dijon Lee, Chuck McDonald II, and Ivan Taylor, but the school also made use of the transfer portal. It brought in a name that provides physicality, aggression, and the desire to have the college football world know his name.

Cameron Calhoun, an Ohio native, spent the 2023 season at Michigan on a College Football Playoff National Title roster and 2024 at Utah as a member of the Big 12. He played in two games for the Wolverines; however, it was his campaign with the Utes that made him a star.
Calhoun played in 11 games — one start — for Utah and totaled 21 tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception, and nine pass breakups. The 6-foot, 180-pounder led his team in breakups, while finishing fourth in the Big 12. He loves separating wide receivers from the football and had a good spring with the Tide. Pro Football Focus unveiled its top-10 list of cornerbacks for next year’s NFL Draft, but Calhoun’s name was not there. The talented transfer responded to the information on X with “Bet”- JJ McCarthy. People were not high on McCarthy as a quarterback from Michigan for the 2024 NFL Draft, yet the Minnesota Vikings took him in the first round.

Calhoun knows he will prove his doubters wrong.
He is in a position to possibly start opposite Domani Jackson at corner or be a high-end playmaker in the rotation. It will be interesting to see Calhoun’s development in fall camp.
